USM17
Season 2016/2017
With the introduction of direct actuation to the front suspension, a new tuning setup to the engine and a new aerodynamic & bodywork package, USM17 shows significant design improvements over its predecessors.
Carbon fibre firewall, vanity and floor panels were introduced to the new chassis design in-keeping with our goal of having a clean, fit and finished car, whilst offering a significant weight saving compared to aluminium panels.
Placing 21st overall and 13th in the combustion class at Formula Student Netherlands 2017, USM17 (which was the second-lightest car at FSN) was a solid build with design judges complimenting the car at many stages during the competition. Unfortunately, engine/electrical issues prevented us from completing endurance.
